Ethiopia

aksum was the capital of the aksumite kingdom, rising and declining from 000 until 700. it’s civilisation developed and grew into what is now ethiopia. the characteristics of aksumite architecture can be found on the stelae in the town of aksum and in later built and rockhewn churches of ethiopia. they are the joy of tourists visiting the northern circuit between addis abeba and aksum near the eritrean border.
